What is our goal?
It is our
goal to offer nutritious meals and snacks to the children in our care, as
nutrition is a vital part of a child's health. Children need to eat
well-balanced meals in order to meet his or her daily energy needs and to help
them build a strong body and mind. We know that the good food habits a child
develops will help them prevent cavities, iron deficiency anemia, and obesity,
etc - all common nutritional problems in young children.
Food & Meals- My family day care has participated in the Providers Choice Food Program since 2002, a Federally Funded Food Program which requires us to serve well balanced meals and snacks. Each child is offered a variety of food and encouraged to try them, but will not be forced. I enjoy cooking and most of the meals will be home cooked. Please notify me of any food allergies or special diets. Per Rule 2: Please label any bottles or food brought to our home with the child’s name and date brought to day care. Parents of toddlers ages one & two can choose 2% or whole milk for their child. According to the State Food Program guidelines, the day care can only serve 1% to children over the age of two. If your child needs 2% or Whole Milk past the age of 2, Special Diet Statement Form needs to be filled out by your doctor stating that your child needs it. If your child needs to be on a special diet, then the Special Diet Statement Form needs to filled out by your doctor to, stating what they need.
